Meet the Founder
Curtis Thorn
Curtis Thorn is a former professional soccer player, coach, and entrepreneur originally from Southampton, England. With a lifelong passion for the game, Curtis developed through competitive academies before moving to the United States, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Sports Science and later completed his MBA at Nova Southeastern University.
Curtis went on to play professionally—earning MVP honors and representing teams in the second tier of the American soccer structure. Drawing from his experience in both elite environments and youth development, he launched CT Development (CTD), a training program known for helping players reach collegiate, professional, and national-level success.
Now, as the Founder & Director of CTD Soccer Academy, Curtis is building an innovative education center that blends private academics with European-inspired soccer training. His mission is to create a high-performance environment where young athletes excel on the field and in the classroom, preparing them for long-term success in high school, college, and beyond.

The European Development Philosophy
Technical Mastery
We prioritize ball mastery, repetition, and quality touches in every session—building a strong technical foundation that supports confident, creative play.
Tactical Intelligence Over Results
Players are taught how to read the game, make decisions, and solve problems on the field, emphasizing long-term understanding rather than short-term outcomes.
Long-Term Player Growth
Development is measured over time through consistency, discipline, and progression—preparing athletes for higher levels while maintaining balance with academics.
Why CTD Academy Is Different
An Integrated Academic Model
CTD Academy unites structured academics with elite soccer development, ensuring student-athletes progress intellectually and athletically within one coordinated environment.
Development Over Results
Our focus is on individual player growth, technical mastery, and long-term progression—without pressure from league tables, rankings, or short-term outcomes.
In-Person Structure
CTD provides daily, in-person academic help, mentorship, and accountability - offering flexibility without sacrificing guidance or support.
Meet the CTD Coaching Team
